Our Story
Sonoma Valley Chabad Jewish Center was established in 2024, to serve the Jewish community of Sonoma. Sonoma Valley Jewish Center is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.
Since its inception, Sonoma Valley Chabad Jewish Center, strives to meet the needs of the community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming including: Hebrew school, Campus outreach, Community events, Social services, ect.
Chabad Jewish Center - Sonoma Valley is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are fully tax deductible.
Meet the Wenger's
Rabbi Mendy & Chaya Wenger moved to Sonoma and founded Sonoma Valley Chabad Jewish Center in 2024.
Prior to moving to Sonoma, Rabbi Mendy grew up in Montreal, Canada before pursuing studies in Jewish thought and practice in Toronto, Brooklyn, and received his rabbinical ordination in Los Angeles. His infectious optimism and joyful personality drives his commitment and dedication to his community.
Chaya was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA and is a passionate educator, teaching classes for women, as well as educating her own child - Raizel:). She also has exquisite taste which shines through all the events at Chabad she plans.
