Welcome to Chabad of Sonoma Valley!

We’re Rabbi Mendy and Chaya Wenger, and we founded Chabad of Sonoma Valley in 2024 with a vision to build a vibrant, welcoming Jewish community here in the heart of wine country.

Since then, our community has grown tremendously. In 2026, we opened the doors to our new Chabad Center at 595 Fifth Street West, giving us a home base for our growing programs and an even greater opportunity to connect with Jewish families throughout the valley. Today, we serve over 225 Jewish families, and we continue to grow every year, welcoming more families, building new friendships, and creating meaningful Jewish experiences.

At Chabad, we believe Judaism should be alive, joyful, and relevant. Whether you’re looking for meaningful Jewish learning, a place to celebrate the holidays, opportunities to connect with other Jewish families, or simply a stronger connection to Jewish culture and community, there’s a place for you here.

From our annual Shabbat Under the Stars to weekly Wine & Wisdom, women’s gatherings, Baby Café for young families, our Jewish Women’s Circle, men’s club, and Chabad Cycling Club, there are so many ways to get involved. Throughout the year, we bring people together for holiday celebrations, Shabbat dinners, children’s activities, teen programs, adult education, Holocaust education in local schools, and so much more.

We love seeing young families find their place in the community, children grow up with a connection to their Jewish heritage, and people of all ages discover new friendships and meaningful connections. Whether you’ve lived in Sonoma Valley for generations or just arrived, we want you to feel at home.

We’re an independent, community-funded nonprofit, made possible by the generosity and participation of people who believe in building Jewish life here in Sonoma Valley. Our community is open to everyone, with no membership requirements and no barriers to getting involved.

What started as a vision in 2024 has grown into a thriving and dynamic community, and we’re just getting started. We look forward to welcoming you!
